Bloomsbury Art Fair, 13-16 July

Mona will be participating in the inaugural Bloomsbury Art Fair in London. Situated in the stunning surrounds of Mecklenburgh Square, the fair will exhibit work for sale by 40 internationally feted artists such as Banksy, Damien Hirst, Nick Walker, Johannes von Stumm and Takashi Murakami alongside art by new and emerging talent. Women In Asia Awards 2010

“The RBS Coutts/Financial Times Women In Asia Awards will recognise regional entrepreneurs and working women who have contributed to Asian and international economies, as well as to their own communities through their innovative ideas, successes and skills, creativity and courage, dedication and determination.

As part of an annual initiative, the Women In Asia Awards will provide the winners with significant new opportunities by increasing their visibility and profile both locally and internationally, which creating new role models for the next generation to follow.”

Mona has been commissioned to produce three pieces of work which were given to the award winners as their prize. Her work was exhibited at the Award ceremony on September 15, 2010, at the British High Commissioner’s residence in Singapore.


The V&A International Print Residency, 2009
The Victoria & Albert Museum, London, UK.

Mona was awarded the first International Printmaking Residency at the V&A in London, and worked in one of two studios in The Sackler Centre, within the Museum, since February 2009. The six-month residency was offered in partnership with The London Print Studio and The London Printworks Trust.

2010 D.A.Activist (Collaboration)
Gallery de Vie, Hong Kong, 2009

An exhibition where art and fashion combine to ask questions about human life: how we live, what impact do we have on the environment and other living beings. A collaboration between fashion artist Lilia Yip and Mona Choo, this womenswear collection shows digitally printed artwork on garments, soft structured draped clothing and limited edition prints.

A subtle and intimate form of design and art activism, this touring exhibition will make its way to London's Austin Gallery in January 2010.

This annual juried exhibition showcases the work of both emerging and established artists from the UK and around the world, while raising funds for a charity.
Judges include experts such as Louis Singh from Beaux Arts London Gallery; International Sculptor, Angela Conner; Moussy Salem, Contemporary Art Collector and Dealer; Sir John Bird, Art Enthusiast and Founder of the Big Issue; and Richard Martin, Art Dealer, Founder and Chairman of Children of Peace.
